F1 Saudi Arabia

Postby Manchesteral » Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:43 pm

I'm predicting that one way or another the nasty Dutchman will cause massive problems tomorrow probably a deliberate "accident" he will do anything to stop Hamilton winning and this is probably his last chance to do so !

Max is a good driver but in my opinion the dirtiest drive since Michael Schumacher. Also not good from coming from behind but great from runner.

Max is still on a learning curve!

Both him and Hamilton were electrifying in qualifying. The circuit is mental. Very very fast, no run off areas. I suspect we will see multiple safety cars.

Good to see some progress on human rights. Lets hope the country keeps it up.

Without doubt his driving ability is world class, there is no question that he will one day be a champion, if he doesn't kill himself (or someone else) before he achieves that.

His problem is his mental approach, he seems to have an almost schoolyard bully attitude to racing without having any thought to the consequences of his (often) dangerous manoeuvres on the track, in my opinion he is over competitive to a dangerous degree, I believe he has the potential to be a great F 1 competitor but until he gets some help with his mental attitude he will be held back !

Notice once again that Bottas is in p2 he is also an excellent driver but has the opposite attitude to Verstappen, I believe that if he (Bottas) could unleash the killer instinct he would be a serious threat to both of the main contenders.

Having said that I'm looking forward to an afternoon of great racing, I hope !

Bottas? He has had his chance year after year. Very inconsistent.

The host country now has women teams competing abroad. Lots more still to do of course. Should F1 be going to these countries?
In my view China shouldnt be on the calendar.

I disagree with your evaluation of Bottas he has consistantly been p2 or p3 on the grid line up, as I said he does not quite have the killer instinct of his rivals (more likely he does but can't quite let it out) he is consistantly ahead of Raikkonen and Alonso, both former world champions, He of course has always had to perform according to "team instructions" he will probably never have his day but I believe he is still an excellent F1 competitor, nuff said from me !

Botas is a great qualifier but when his job it to keep Verstappen away from Lewis he doesn’t defend hard enough. That will be a vital role tonight. Hopefully he will keep his elbows out a bit more than usual.

Seems a gearbox change is not needed.

Yes, his main job tonight will be running interference between Hamilton and Verstappen, if he can do that well and there are no major upsets in the race then the title will be Hamiltons, I reckon
Let's not forget this is an untested circuit and God alone knows what can happen !

Looks as though Lewis is going to be robbed again, bloody red flag !! Which also means that Verstappen can change his tyres without losing his position, the rules are sometimes so stupid :x !

Verstappen AGAIN cheating by cutting across the track to get ahead, he doesn't deserve to keep his place !

Absolutely the dirtiest driving I’ve ever seen in 40 years of watching F1. Tried every trick to take LH out. I guess next weekend he will crash into Lewis and win the title by most wins in a season. He cant beat LH in a fair fight as the Mere is too quick.

While I agree he is consistently dirty, you forget Senna and Schumacher who could both turn it on as required.

Max is a dangerous thug. When did the stewards “ negotiate” with the teams?!

Max should have a race ban not a ten second penalty.

Hats off to Lewis keeping out of trouble and winning with a damaged car.

Bottas? If he was any good he should have finished second or first.

Is the Sky coverage unbiased? I find the CH4 coverage very pro Max.
