Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
Well, the race director is now on record saying that if either of them start messing around that penalties will be severe. That means the possibility of a loss of championship points, both in the drivers championship and the constructors.
This has happened before with Schumacher vs Villneuve so at least we know that the FIA are looking at all possibilities.
At least we can watch it on C4. I really prefer their coverage.

Well Masi has said that the rules will be enforced including penalties to effectively stop the dangerous thug taking himself and Hamilton off in order to win on “ most wins this season” We will see.I hope they define in driver briefing what handing the postion back following gaining an adavantage by using shortcuts…….
It is live on Channel4 ( with their biased Towards boysfanz commentary) which is a plus for anyone without a subscription live service.
Lets just hope for a clean close race not decided by tryes or dangerous overtaking moves.

Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
"It is live on Channel4 " not according to the schedule - it still shows as a highlights starting at 6.30pm?
EDIT: zingzing TV guide has put me behind the times!
I found an announcement that Sky & Ch4 have come to an agreement to show it live! Only problem now for me is that it clashes with my usual bridge tournament online!

UK time or Spanish? Cannot stand all the pre-race waffle so looks like 2pm start. Tv manages to turn a 90 minute football match into a 3 hour yakking session, and F1 has the same disease.

Race starts at 2pm CET. Qualifying is not live on C4. C4 program starts at 1pm CET.

I am glad I am not the only one who dislikes the pre race buildup. It will be unbearable on Sunday with profiles, expert opinions . Sadly F1 is media run and big money.
Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
C4 did a deal today with Sky to show it live. The only one to benefit from the two of them crashing out on any lap is Max which is why M Massi has said all options are open against dirty tricks. LH needs to win it on the track and i think he will.

It's never been the same for me since they dropped Fleetwood Mac's The Chain.
PS I think Verstappen will attempt to knock Hamilton right off the planet if he can.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mercedes fit a new engine to Lewis’s car. Five spot grid penalty . The engine would be a bit more powerful as not worn and Lewis could stay out of trouble and use his driving skill to make up the places and win. Only have to deal with Fanboy once.

For those who like the waffling bods the schedule now shows the Build up @1pm, Race @1.55, followed by a "not been on tely enough" session of analysis - there are highlights programmes later = all on Ch4.

Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
Sadly I think you are right, at this stage of the championship I believe, whatever the cost, that Verstappen's only target is to ensure that Hamilton doesn't win.
I genuinely believe that he (Verstappen) will cause the death of another driver in the foreseeable future and I don't get why the race authorities don't recognise this, he is seriously dangerous and needs bringing to heel ! His father (who in 4 seasons had only 2 podiums and is therefore of no importance) is egging him on and should be banned from any non public areas of the track, rant over !

Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
I didn’t know they had.
I too have never been fan of all the pre-match/race build up so I generally tune in just before the race or match starts.
I don’t know about it being the race of the century. We will have to see how it pans out. So far the Hamilton’s first year and the next one when he won the championship on the last bend come first and second. To cross the finishing line as champion only to have it snatched away in the next few seconds will take some surpassing.

Mark, when F1 went from the BBC to Sky, I think, they dropped the theme tune.
Re: F 1 Abu Dhabi
I have heard it last week as a theme to some F1 related program. Who knows where - not I.
Friday practice is mostly meaningless to you and me.

Horner the master tactician (usually). Forces Lewis into having to overtake Mad Max, and he may not be able to do it through pitstops.

Lewis will be right behind him and be able to anticipate every move he (Verstappen) makes Lewis Hamilton is the rightful world champion and will surpass Schumacher *another serial cheat) having said that I truly hope the best man wins !
