Last Thursday I got on a bus in Madrid to travel back to Extremadura after having spent a few days away. The bus was full. Not one single seat was free. All the people seemed to know each other, were loud and had shouted conversations and they coughed, spluttered and sneezed the entire journey while wearing their masks below their noses. It was hideous.

On Friday I felt fine but did one of those PCR tests which was negative. By lunch time I was overcome by a tiredness the like of which I have never experienced. I, literally, wanted to lay down on the floor and fall unconscious. Luckily, I was at home. I went to bed with a duvet tucked in all around me as I was freezing and I slept until Saturday afternoon. I woke and felt fine and showered, dressed and changed the sheets as the bed was a bit yuck with the effects of my temperature. I cooked dinner and watched the footie match between Liverpool and Real Madrid and went to bed with a raging sore throat and an occasional cough. I slept for 14 hours.

This morning I did another PCR test and it was positive which was not a surprise and, at least, was some answer to why I felt so strange. However. my temperature is back to normal and I had a productive day of washing clothes and gardening and doing normal things but confined to the house in the campo. I still have my sore throat and the occasional cough but I do feel tired.

So, I wait for things to unfold but I hope it won't take too long to disappear as I have 'things to do'. I shall report developments as they happen.

Drink lots of honey and lemon and take paracetamol....worked for me...

We are away and I have had three firsts this month.

Knee problems. Never realised knee pain could be so painful and debilitating.

Got Covid and was in bed for two days. Felt so ill. Still feel tired easily now. Mrs olive avoided getting it amazingly.

Got my first ever migraine. Was the same eyes open or closed. Hope never to have one again!

Hope you get back to normal soon.

Hope you all recover soon, sounds much worse than just a cold which many people have experienced. I've escaped it several times when i have been in contact with members of my family who have had it, at least 2 felt very ill while the rest had cold symptoms. I do assume that one day i will get it and never know the source.

Nearly all of my friends/family have had Covid to varying degrees. My friends I caught up with in England the other week had just recovered and had had it quite badly. It started like a cold and like you Lavanda, initially tested negative. As it got worse they tested again and it was positive and although one partner wasn't too bad, the other has said that she now gets dreadful headaches that she never used to get. Both had been fully jabbed BTW.

Hope you're soon fully recovered Lavanda.

Thank you, yes, I think I am on the mend but it has only been four days yet I feel better. My OH got some medicines from the pharmacy yesterday as we had nothing in the medicine box at home. Neither of us actually take medicines for anything, other than prescribed things, as we prefer to let Nature do its thing. Anyway, I have been taking dissolved paracetamol three times a day, sucking lemon strepsils as and when and taking a thick gunky goo last thing at night which coats my throat and is certainly helping. It’s called Juanola and is made from honey, thyme and Aleta roots. So far, so good.

Sore throat has gone and I have no fever and the tiredness is more manageable. Yesterday was a good day with washing and gardening done in the afternoon. The only thing is that I feel a bit dizzy if I get up too quickly and that is not a nice feeling. Still, so far, it seems to be all right but I have no idea if there are 'long term' effects out there which will manifest them selves later.

My triple-vaccinated OH tested positive on Tuesday and seems quite poorly at the moment. I'm worried about him as, maybe the vaccines have compromised his immune system but, who knows.

Lavanda good to hear you're feeling loads better, dizziness is nasty but in my wifes case it only lasted a few days. Her fatigue lasted longer but with sublingual high strength B12 plus a couple of other supplements her energy levels were back to normal in about two weeks. She registered positive for 7 days but luckily only had one day laid up in bed. This was back in March. Like you she is "vaccine" free and has no lingering or odd side effects.
Hope your hubby makes a swift recovery.

I tested negative yesterday so the whole thing has lasted eight days. I feel back to normal and the thing has gone as fast as it arrived.

That's good to hear Lavanda.

Friends went to Madrid for a week and about two days before returning, one started to feel like she had a cold coming. It got worse and although testing negative to start with, after a week she tested positive, by which time her husband did as well. She had a day when she was feeling better, but then felt awful again, and she's also had dizzyness. She started this on 25/5 and still isn't back to normal and both of them have been fully vaccinated. It seems you have got over your bout quicker. Perhaps you have better natural immunity being unvaccinated?

Think there are other virus around. I felt really flu like couple of weeks ago. All my bones ached and stomach. Only lasted 48 hours. Tested twice negative.

Today was my first full day of socialising. All went well. However, I was asked if I would now get vaccinated seeing as I 'got' Covid and was, clearly, vulnerable. I was reminded that my antibodies might only last a year and I would need the vaccine to get better protection for the future. Parallel universe, anyone?

That's if they do last a year Lavanda, OTH is on his 2nd bout of Covid, his last one was this year in early Jan...The first time he started with a few aches, he had a dry cough but it didn't knock him for six..This time he came back from work feeling tired, nothing out of the ordinary as he has often come in tired.. i tested him because he also had the sniffles...it was positive, the symptoms were gone the next morning and he's been fine since...The only thing i can say is that in his case the 2nd dose of covid has been nothing, not that the first dose effected him badly but with so many varients around we could easily get through them all...

They obviously don't understand the concept of acquired immunity and antibodies Another friend has just come down with Covid. These are people that have worn masks most of the time even when not required to by law. My other fully jabbed friends I mentioned earlier are now into their third week of not feeling well.

Third week? Poor things. Sounds like their immune systems are not doing their thing properly.
