I'm happy with the title Boris suggested in Parliament in his excellent speech.
"Elizabeth the Great", which she truly was.
RIP Elizabeth the Great.

My sentiments also.Lavanda wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:41 am That's quite a record Wicksey.
I think 'Elizabeth the Great' is very apt. For my entire life, Charles has been the heir to the throne and to see him move so smoothly into his new role is no huge surprise. I feel the thing the Monarchy gives the country is the sense of continuity, security and stability. I also think that it is evident in emotional terms rather than practical but I think that is what the modern British Monarchy is all about.
Another nasty and unnecessary comment.
My mother and i travelled down to London to watch Dianas funeral, the flowers everywhere were amazing, so glad we had gone. I can imagine what it must be like in London at this moment in time. I recall it was very easy to get from Buckingham palace and St James palace to Kensington where all the flowers had been placed. Shame it would take you that length of time to see them costakid.costakid wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 7:34 am I am going into the City today on business. I thought I would walk from Green park station to Buckingham palace so see the flowers etc. Usually takes under 10 minutes but news report is saying its taking 5 hours as you snake through the park. I will give that a miss I think.
