Ventolin Inhaler Blue

Grateful for advice please - can the blue Ventolin inhalers still be bought over the counter in Andalucían pharmacies? I know it was possible a few years ago but didn't know if the dispensing rules had been tightened. Many thanks in advance.

Yes. As above. Ventolin and the salbutamol generic equivalent are both 2.50 and can be bought without prescription.

If you are thinking of taking a few back to the UK, restrictions have been tightened in that many pharmacies won't sell more than 2 at a time.

The farmacia here in Almeria won't sell them anymore - you need a prescription.

While I was at my doctors the other day, I asked him to put Ventolin on my prescription, he did without question.

SM has corrected me. In our local Ventolin is available at the prescription frequency, it is also available OTC provided it is on the scrip i.e. out of sequence.
It is not normally available OTC nowadays.

This, I expect, will vary with region, Pharmacy, person.

Neighbour got 2 x Ventolin this morning as per normal at their local Farmacy OTC ......No issue No Questions...€5.00 for both

I thought I would give everyone an update on this for information purposes :

The reason that I know about ventolin is my dad, hes been using them for 50 years or so.

When we moved to spain, he was able to by them OTC (over the counter).

Last week they stopped the sale of them completly. A big problem for him. So now instead of being able to stop and buy them, he has to visit the GP and have tests etc, before she will make a prescription.

I went to 7 chemists this week, and 4 of them flat out said no.

3 of them sold me inhalors without a question.

so even tho its not allowed.. its still pot luck...
