Pneumonia Jab

Postby olive » Mon Oct 03, 2022 1:20 pm

Anyone had their jab? We had ours and felt a bit off for a week but fine now.

Seems a no brainer for anyone with underlying conditions.

The pneumonia one is a one off isn't it as I understand it?? Like the flu, I'm not sure they give it to under-65s here. If it is a true one-off vaccination then certainly in the future when I'm older it would seem worthwhile.

Yes, it is a one-off vaccination. It used to be offered to over 65s but two years ago I was offered one, aged 64, when I went for my flu jab. They had brought it forward to over 60s when the pandemic came along. I didn't have any ill effects from either the flu jab or the pneumonia one, neither did my husband when he had his both at the same time like me.
