Repeat Prescriptions

Postby paulellis » Sun Jan 22, 2006 10:09 am

My elderly parants are moving out in March. They are both on daily medication, I was wondering the simplest way of getting them registered in order for them to obtain repeat prescriptions with a minimum of hassle?

If they have the E121, it's a case of taking it to the local Social Security Office and getting a number issued. (Here is Sevilla we need to go to one office to get the number, and another to register for medical treatment so check out the system where you are). This will then entitie them to free medical treatment. However, to get a repeat prescription in Spain involves seeing the doctor, taking the packets of the pills you want to have a repeat for. It's not possible just to phone 24hrs in advance or drop in the prescription counterfoil over here!
