A meal in Puerto Banus

When we are in Estepona in early June we might take the bus to PB for a late lunch or early dinner.
Does anyone have any recommendations for reasonably priced places. We like all cuisines and realise we are paying a premium for the location

Richard, forget PB, the food is only average there now. Unless you want to people watch ? That would be my main reason to go there now. A place thats definately worth a visit is "Lekune" a tapas place in Marbella. The place is always busy. They bring the "freshly cooked" tapas to your table. The bus from Estepona will get you there. Last meal I had cost around €15 a head inc drink.

Recently went to Picasso in Puerto Banus and shared (for 2)a rack of ribs with corn on the cob & chips for 20 euros (plus drinks) very nice and tasty and quite enough...

Picasso is the only descent place at a reasonable price. The queue is quite long in summer and most lunch times.

Richard, do you know The Caracola in Estepona Port, at the end of the road behind Renaldo's in the archway? Best abadejo around IMO.
Abadejo, chips and a small ( I mean not immense) salad for 2 and bottle of house and water 30 odd euros

Looks a bit scrappy but it is excellent, been going there for years.

Thanks.. No I don't know that place in Estepona port, but we are staying at The Hotel Mediteraneo so it's quite close and we will try it.

What is Abadejo?

Unicorn ... Read the TA reviews for Caracola and there are excellent.
Could you give more details of where. It is everyone says hard to find. I know the port quite well.

There are very nice and extremely pricey restaurants in Banus but Picasso is the only one where the food is very good and the prices very sensible.
Arrive a bit earlier than normal and you will be ok. It is a big restaurant but lots of staff and the service is quite good. They are not over friendly but don’t take it personal as they are like it with everyone.

Scotty... Lekune sounds my kinda place
We will defo try and get there. The counting of the sticks to pay La Dolorossa sounds fun. It seems to be located on Fontanilla so I would guess we get off at the stop before our usual one which is by the Alameda gardens.

That rings a bell alright. On the food front , you use the cocktail sticks to pay for food in Lekune. In Estepona you must go to La Esquina de Arte http://www.esquinadelarte-estepona.com/ It's got great atmosphere and great food.

I think I've passed that place a few times Scotty, but never been in.
Is it just down the slope from the old market hall on the Lhs?
What sort of food do they do?

Problem is we have had so many good suggestions on top of what we already know and we only have a week.
Next time we'll make it two!

Richard , you go down into the port and take the lane/alley behind Renaldo's. On your left is a sushi place at the beginning of the little road. Go right down the end, past a cafe with a 'bratwurst', sort of name and at the end there is an archway and it is there. He opens Thurs thru Sun lunch and dinner but dinner starts at 9, I think and lunch more 1.30 to 2pm till late.Opens maybe a bit more during the summer. For me Friday & Sat lunch are the best as people are on the beach.

The fish is uber fresh (advise abadejo!) and the batter really light, and salad dressing fab

It looks more like a fish and chip shop, but that is what it is I guess, but he will scatter tables outside in sun or shade.

By the way, had a meal the other day in the restaurant under the Club Nautico at the other end end of the port , salmaon tartare to start with and a steak (bleu) to die for.....

Oooops, feel really peckish now.......
