Hello all
this is my first post here and i am mainly on here to find out the gaming laws in andalucia (malaga)
We currently run a pokerlcub in Glasgow Scotland, but we are looking into setting one up in Malaga.
We do have soem problems of finding the new gaming laws fr this region and it would be appreciated if anyone on here might be able to guide us in the right direction

hello princess
thanks for the reply.
as far as we are aware someone did seet up a pokerlcub in Malaga, but they were unsuccesfull because they did not have a clue how to run them and no marketing skills.
We are determined to make this work and know it is possible just like back here in the UK and the spanish championship tournaments in the state regulated casino's have proven the appatite for poker in Spain.
It would just be nice if we could find a council or province that has a website with the current laws displayed on them..haha
Thank you anyway and hope some others might be able to help out as well

Not recently I reckon!!jennyshaw wrote:I have been in bars on the coast and seen plenty of bookies in the back of the bars, with all their gear on full show taking bets, nothing hidden, so I'm assuming they are legal, the only betting shop I have seen was in Majorca, but that too had a bar in it.
There was big news about it several months ago.....Betbull is quite a sizeable corporation and opened in Banus and La Cala....Both have been closed now for several months...
The police had an operation a little while back (several months now) with all of these bar's with bookies in the back office, went undercover, placed bets over a period of time, then marched into all the bars on one day, confiscated all the equipment and promptly closed them down!
Same with Aces....was closed down....still started again but as with anything trying to avoid loopholes in the law, as fast as they are closed, they open again with another loophole and as fast as they find a loophole they are closed!!!

ok guys-i emailed my friends husband who is employed in the gaming industry-here is what he wrote.
If anyone would like me to ask him any further questions,i will doAt the moment this is not allowed in most areas of Spain.
Each different region has their own set of laws, there are seventeen different autonomous regions, and at the moment the only two areas where it is legal are Madrid and the Basque region.
For a while this sort of premises operated on the Costa del Sol but the license was only for tote betting, and the
outlets were taking sports bets and sp bets so they were closed down.
I am working in Madrid at the moment setting up a chain of betting shops for a company. I believe that when the rest of Spain sees the set up in Madrid (which is the main autonomous region) within a year or so they will all legalise betting outlets.
