Malaga Christmas Lights

Postby costakid » Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:09 am

The lights are on as of 29/11. They are better than last year if thats possible. Lovely display and well worth a trip into Malaga. 1st light and music show is 18.30 then 2 more shows every night.

Thanks for the reminder.

This year we are going to stay one or two nights in a central hotel. We need one with an underground car park. Maybe NH hotel.

We have had a bit of rain but thats cleared now. Its warm in the sun but cool once the sun goes down. Layers I suggest or a warm coat.

Thanks costakid, i thought it may well be cool once the sun went down...Biggest problem at the moment is waiting to see if we even get away! I hope there won't be any flight cancellations on Sunday with what's happening in France.

Walked into Malaga this morning, coat off and warm sun. 1 hour later windy and started to get quite cold. Definitely winter.

We have just come back from Malaga the lights are Magnificent. The new area at Alameda Principal is also worth a look. This year there is another light show to take a look at around the Moorish Castle. Watch out for the twist at the end.

I thought the light and sound show in Calle Larios didn't start until 6:30 pm.
So how did you see it and get back home that quick?
Cheers

Well Greta may like to know that the electric bill was just short of €60000 ten years ago. This year now the lights are 100% LED the electric bill is €9000. Thats got to help the planet and the Malaga coffers.

While Greta was sailing from the USA to Portugal on her eco boat they forgot to mention the crew had to fly out to sail the boat back.

We watched them again tonight from bottom ofCalle Larios. Absolutely mobbed. The city must surely be benefiting financially.

We just got back home to Uk after enjoying a sunny few days in Malaga, the lights were excellent, as costakid has said it was completely mobbed, restaurants were busy and so were the shops..

We enjoyed the lights and music last night.

Excellent atmosphere.

Had a gin and tonic and a glass of wine on the rooftop of the AC hotel. Excellent experience though at 12 euros it was three times what we pay in the sticks at our local bar and no free tapas. Eight euros for the ambience was still a bargain.

That was the theme of the last 24 hours. We had a great time and haemorrhaged money! You only live once.

We stayed at the Casual hotel. Nice superior room but the beds were too hard, room too hot and the noise from other guests especially the woman riding a pony in the room above was not to our liking. Oh and the central heating boiler kept kicking in and out all night somewhere in the building. Hey ho.
