Have You Got The ...'S' Factor..?
Have You Got The ...'S' Factor..?
So you are thinking of moving to Spain, or you are already in Spain....
But do you have the ...'S' FACTOR ?.....Are you Determined to Succeed ?, ... Resilient, Thick Skinned, Got Real Guts, And Have Plenty of Money..?
To survive in Spain you will need all of the above, and more....Can you Laugh at Adversity, Do You refuse to Take No for an Answer ?, .. And Have You Got a Good Sense of Humour? ... Are You Prepared to be Property Rich ...and Cash Poor.....?..
..Great....then Congratulations...You are through to the Next Round.....
ps.....I'm sure I've missed out many other requirements...

Hiker and anyone else about to move to Spain.....
I don't see any reason to be scared, you will be a little apprehensive, but I'm sure that everyone moving to a new life abroad feels the same, I certainly did....
..The path to your new life is well trodden, and although you must always be a bit wary, and consider what you are doing carefully, I don't believe anyone should be put off....You are not travelling on the last plane to the other side of the Moon, so if it doesn't work out you can always return to your homeland....
...If you are moving as a family unit, you may find that one member of your family just can't settle, and they will need a lot of patient consideration and help, but usually they do 'come around'.....
Having forums, like this one, can help considerably, and you will find many people willing to help with advice, which they have probably learned the hard way..
...There are of course the 'scaremongers', who predict 'doom and gloom', and make you believe that there is a policeman waiting on every corner waiting to get all expats...it does happen, but not that often....If you try your best to be a useful, law abiding person, then it is unlikely that you will have any problems.....
My advice is try to keep a 'low profile' until you have found your feet, give respect and you will receive respect....
