I think this is going to finally put the mockers on anyone thinking of moving to Spain:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/4224 ... ating.html

A quote from the article:

"Spain is discovering the limits of action within the eurozone. It can no longer let its currency take the strain, or follow the US, Switzerland, Sweden, Britain, in slashing rates. Indeed, Frankfurt raised eurozone rates last July at a time when Spain's housing crash was already under way. Unemployment has surged to 13.4pc, breaking the 3m barrier.

Michael Klawitter, from Dresdner Kleinwort, said Spain was now crumbling on every front. "Tax revenue is collapsing. There is a banking crisis and a massive deterioration linked to housing. It is arguable that Spain has already let matters go past the point of no return," he said."

No punches pulled there! :(

Whilst I have no wish to defend slippery Brown (the man who is going to save the world) at least the UK is not contributing to the destruction of its property market by destroying or threatening to destroy legally built properties.

Beachy,I wasn't going to reply to that "sooooooooo" comment nonsense as these guys needs something to release their unhappiness at being a psuedo Spaniard.
It's a regular occurance though sadly.

Nice to be able to call it as it is eh Beachy, you know, being able to say whats good about Spain and the UK in equal honest measures and to enjoy both countries for what they are, without always having to compare the two to make yourself feel better.

That's how it comes across to me anyway

No, I think it is the lack of honesty and integrity in the political system and the legal 'profession'.

Having owned property here for 10 years, and lived here continuously for nearly 7 years, I certainly am feeling increasingly insecure and disheartened by the lack of clarity, organisation and any sense of moral or leadership responsibility....

Spain is NOT crumbling on EVERY front. Try getting out of Andalucia from time to time!

HI guys, where are you all gone, please spare a thought for us poor beggers that cant move out yet???? who are now worrying as to whether we have missed the boat already or is our boat about to come in ..full steam ahead because maybe just maybe we might be able to afford a house somewhere a little closer to the coast but i still prefer inland a little but if it where the difference between moving and not i could deal with it!!!!!

I've been here almost a year now and it's the best thing I ever did! My daughter has opened a beauty salon and, like everywhere else, business is a bit slow, but she's still managing to earn a living. Anyway, it's all swings and roundabouts, so things will improve again all round - well, it can't stay this low forever! I'd rather be here than back in Northern Ireland and so far have no regrets about making the big move. 8)
