Re: No one want to move to Andalucia - says it all?
I would hazard a guess that the sister-in-law with the motorbike heading to Turkey had the energy, drive, vision and ambition to make some pretty imaginative leaps in thinking and set up her business - or got side-tracked into something even more promising - and she's doing well.
Your brother, I would guess, bought a bigger house and a new car with his £120,000 and is still plodding along in a job he's not wild about but as he's locked in to 'the system' he's stuck.
Success is about lots of things and while we all need money to live on it's not the only criteria for defining success. A life rich in experience, for me, has to be more successful than just staying 'at home'. Trying and not achieving might be seen by some as 'failure' but I think that trying is better than not trying and all experience can be seen as positive, learning, growing and living. I guess I'm an optimistic person not given to walking the 'safe' road. We're building a fantastic house at the moment - in a time of recession. Everyday is wonderful.
I like the sound of the sister-in-law! Dangerous! Exciting! Most women are!

Hey ! Lavanda
I agree with you there, except for the house building, we have just got planning to build another 8 houses (here in the UK mind) but we are going to sit on it for a while, sure we will make more in a few years, but if it was only for us, i would go ahead, in fact to rent or live in, its a good time, some good rates around with the recession, good for some, bad for others
I remember the first house we built, soooooooooo exciting
I love positivity, its the way to start and end the day

Excellent posts guys. Especially you Lavanda - nice one sister! This recession is just another experience. For most I guess it's not nice, but somebody will be loving it. In fact it's all been planned, so whoever planned it must be chuffed. It's an experience make of it what you will.

On a different forum, I posted the question " Has the credit crunch changed your holiday plans". Most people said they were still having a holiday this year, but were either booking it later or would spend less once there. Most seemed to think it would affect them more next year, not this.
