Where to buy bubblewrap near Alcaucin/Velez?

Postby johnr » Wed Nov 27, 2013 9:42 pm

Hi all,

This question is the opposite of this forum in a way, but I'm shipping some stuff back to the UK and need some packaging (bubblewrap etc). Does anyone know where I can get some?

Thanks
John

When we moved we bought our bubblewrap in big rolls from LeroyMerlin.

Leroys or one of the big sheds will be cheaper than normal stores although the Chinos will be even cheaper if you find one of the bigger ones. There is a big Chino in Torrox Costa on coast road.

The bazaar below Aliprox in Vinuela used to have thick blue toldos in a range of sizes. Don't know whether they are still in stock, but I've seen them in a couple of todo shops as well.

To be honest with you they are useless . They degrade in the sun & the wind makes them fray ib no time at all. Even worse on a woodpile.
get some plastic sheet from an agricultural supplier ( like they use on the fields but thicker. ) last for years.

Unfortunately that is absolutely correct!

Yes. I was there last week for industrial polythene. It's €3.75 per kilo and comes in 4 metre widths. The really strong industrial polythene is yellow and costs €5 per kilo and comes in 5 metre widths (I think).

We got 16m2 of the €3.75 polythene and it came to €7.50.

If you don't need it too strong you can get "painters" protective polythene in Pinturas Andalucia. They have three different grades.

The fereteria in Benamargosa sells it by the meter, cut to whatever length you want. It's only two metres wide, I think, maybe more, but reasonably thick. Not expensive. Probably find it in most fereterias.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!
