Empty van going to the UK... anybody interested?
Empty van going to the UK... anybody interested?
My husband is planning to drive an empty long wheel base van to the UK as we need to bring some stuff to Spain, this month or the next, quite flexible.

Hola
There are a number of people who don't want to use an aircraft that would like to return to the UK - are you taking passengers?

Risky business. You may be importing a parcel of Columbian marching powder for someone unknown to you.

To anyone offering to take stuff back to UK in an empty van, please be aware of the risk you are taking. I quite understand that you may just be wanting to recoup a bit of the ferry and fuel costs, however, there are some unscrupulous people out there who will use you to ship over large quantities of tobacco or worse drugs. The checks on vehicles travelling between Spain, France and UK are increasing, whether this has anything to do with Brexit or illegals I don't know but I just arrived in UK last night, sailing to Portsmouth from Caen. I was stopped at the Spanish - French border by the Douanne, then opened up again and checked by port security as I entered the port, then again by Douanne while waiting in the lanes for loading. On arrival into the UK last night it took 1hr 15 mins to clear the Border Force as every lorry and van was opened up and checked. You also run the risk of invalidating your insurance if it was proved that you were carrying someone else's goods for hire and reward. Stay safe everyone . Jimbo.
