Re: Clearing up the mud
May I ask how does mud get on high walls of the houses, gates, fences, etc? Is this specific to one area or it's all over Spain?
Re: Clearing up the mud
The wind blows the dust onto the walls.
It sticks very well.
Some of it comes down with the rain.

I think Gerry meant that it rains mud, not that the rain washes it off. I agree, it was an historic event and so many houses are still a deep cinnamon colour.
Re: Clearing up the mud
Correct Wicksey.
The rain makes the nice even coating look worse as it turns it into streams of mud.
I believe there is a possibility of more dust tomorrow and Friday.
Cheers

Sorry read misread your comment. Lets hope they are wrong re the next lot. I am coming over alone and the last thing I need is a major clean up operation again.
Re: Clearing up the mud
My OH has just been washing the house down ready to repaint. He'll have to hold off for a bit the think.
Re: Clearing up the mud
Thankfully the next lot never happened. Scaremongering I think. I have the painters in to do the villa. I had organised it last October so thankfully it wasn't done before the calima calamity.
Pressure washing didn't remove the stains entirely but the painters seem happy enough and it's looking good.

Re: Clearing up the mud
The latest one was for real. We could not see the mountains across the valley but as it didn’t rain there was no muddy fallout.
