Transpirable paint
Got hold of a copy of the Brico Junio brochure. They do show 3 transpirable paints, thanks Hilly.
Tried the biggest paint shop in Loja. The guy shook his head and said I'll give Monto Pinturas a ring and ask their tech dept. If anyone does them they will. The expert at the other end said they only had two paints in their (huge) brochure that were transpirable. One was in stock at the shop 37 euros for 12 litres. Both were interior use only.
I haven't got a damp problem so feel tempted to use a good quality plastic paint outside and in effect seal any moisture in and then use the breathable stuff on the inside. These older houses are all most curious without a damp course. Undoubtedly the best thing would be to use cal and distemper but......
Incidentally the guy from the paint shop has a country house and he just had the outside capa fina'd then painted with a layer of gaucho floor to eaves then painted over the top! He only uses it in the summer so probably doesn't even see any damp issues! He suggested doing the same inside with Mono Cap, gaucho and some of his finest plastic paints.
