Skimming internal walls which plaster do I use?
Skimming internal walls which plaster do I use?
Can anyone advise me what plaster you would use for skimming internal walls. I am an amateur plasterer and can work fairly quickly but I am not sure what products are available in Spain and how different they are to work with compared to uk plasters. Any advice appreciated.

The easiest to use is perlita.

Our plaster used plain old yeso retardado at a few euros a bag - which as the name implies, 'retards' the drying process and enables you to work it properly and get a smooth finish. Is this the same thing Hilly?

How did your walls turn out geegee? I get the impression that even with retardant you still have to be pretty quick off the mark to get yesso out of the bucket and on to the wall before it's gone off. Spanish plasterers don't seem to do the wet trowelling up as the plaster is going gone off to polish and give it a hard finish.

Lovely smooth walls Grouser - but our plasterer was German!!! However, we have friends who had a fabulous finish from their Spanish plasterers that was much admired so it is possible if you know how to work with the material I guess...

yeso retardo or perlita will be perfect. its only a 2mm skim MAX you should need.
Alhaurin el Grande since 99, working at the airport since 2011.

Thanks for all the posts.
Someone mentioned using Perlinor, I had to double check the spelling and it is "Perlinor". I noticed spanish lad and Hillybilly you mentioned "perlita", are these two different products?

Perlinor is a brand name. Perlita is the generic name for this type of plaster of which there are many brands!
