Sealing terrace tiles

I am thinking of sealing the tiles on our roof terrace,this would be for 2 reasons,to make the terrace easier to clean and also to stop the grouting cracking up and allowing water to get underneath them and possibly into our bedroom which is situated directly below it.Anyone know what I could use to seal this area.

Try Blatem Antigoteras Incolorado. There are several products on the market that would do the job and any big paint store should stock at least one brand.

I used the product that Hillbilly suggested to good effect, it leaves a film and remains tacky for a week or two but is effective. Also its a good idea to paint the walls above the terrace as the rain can get behind the tiles through the walls.

I allways use a brush, i find i can work stuff in better.

The one I used was expensive and only lasted for a short while and now you would never know they have been done, so I won't bother again

I also had mine done Professionally,It didnt even last the summer.
Most of the tiles dont have the seal on anymore(where we walk)and the remaining ones look like they have been painted with cheap clear nail polish.I now have to go up and scrape the remaining seal off with a scraper as it just looks awful.I would recommend you do a test patch first in an area where you walk before doing the whole area.Been a waste of time in my experience too.

Its for a roof terrace,It should not get much traffic.

Mine doesnt get much traffic either,its too hot in the summer months to sit up there.It has blistered and peeled all at the edges near the walls ,and where you walk its now non existent.
Not trying to put you off at all,just letting you know whats happened with mine,Maybe it was a cheap and nasty brand that was used.

We painted ours, it was with expensive stuff, it peeled after a year and looked awful in places, we have since had it all retiled to good effect
