Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
We are looking to buy a hot tub/jacuzzi and wondered if anyone knew or could recommend a supplier in or near Granada region? (any makes to look at or avoid?)
Most of ones on Costas will only do a site survey with advice within 100kms....

Time Out Spas in Nerja ... Michael, the owner, is wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable. We've had ours since May and it's fantastic.

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
Does anyone know if this firm is still in business? The English site seems to be down.
If there are any other good jacuzzi providers or shops in the region I'd appreciate contacts/links.
Also can anyone give me a ballpark figure for how much a small outside jacuzzi would costs to buy and install? We have very hard water -does this mean that getting a jacuzzi is a waste of money?
Thanks in advance

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
I have never quite understood the attraction of a hot tub/Jacuzi. Is it because there isn't enough room for a pool?
I can't quite understand why someone would want to sit in a bath of hot water in Spain - in the UK perhaps.
As we spend the whole year in Spain and the pool reaches 33c in August I would be more interested in a "Cold Tub" at about 20c just to keep cool.
We have a big freezer but there still isn't quite enough room for both of us!

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
We don't have enough room for a pool, my wife would love a full size pool, but reading all the problems some people have with pools and the expense of running them, I'm glad we don't have one.
We have an inflatable hot tub.
I like it, after a hot day or hard days work it is very relaxing sitting being gently pummelled by the bubbles, winter or summer.
Cheers

Sid. We got a secondhand tub last year, even though we already have a pool. It isn't just a case of sitting in warm water. The water jets make a big difference. My OH found it makes a big difference to her arthritis. Best buy we have ever made, according to her.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
We have room for a pool but not the money ... also no mains water. We have showers in the house not a bath and I miss being able to have a good soak.
Like Gerry and Steve I am interested in the bubbles for relaxation, cooling off in summer (I am assuming this is possible if the tub is in the shade?) and a warm soak in the winter.
Gerry can you give me details of your inflatable tub? It sounds just the ticket!

OK I can see the attraction - I hadn't considered the effect of the bubbles and jets.
I wonder if you can fit a cooling unit to one?

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
I've now found quite a few inflatable hot tub sites-mainly in UK.
Sid see here for cooling options [/url]http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 947AAZVC3o
if in doubt put in a bag of ice!
Now all I need to do is persuade hubby and get a waterproof cover for my Kindle!

Have a look on Ebay for "inflatable spa" and also on Amazon, plenty to choose from.campocaro1 wrote:

The advantages of inflatable spas are:-
they are cheaper the "fixed" spas
When empty they can easily be moved
When deflated can be stored away.
The big disadvantage I have found, had two of them about to buy the third, each one has lasted 2-3 years, is the platonic/ fabric degrades in the hot Spanish sun. Also our five cats don't help when they decide it's a good game to try to catch an insect resting on the fabric.

Don't the blow up ones wobble a bit
Only seen ever Jaccusis on TV where 2 couples usually sit drinking wine in their cossies after dinner, how do you clamber into one of them with a glass in your hand?.

Not that I've noticed, surprisingly rigid but with a little bit of give for comfort.Devils Advocate wrote:Don't the blow up ones wobble a bit

Ah, Thanks Gerry.....I kind of imagined it to be akin to a bouncy castle that's been left out in the rain, all clear now

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
They are great if the pool is unheated. Come october you can sit looking at the view at sunset, Margarita in hand and get a bit of relaxation. Not that we had one but I know someone who did this. All the hotels un the US have them even in super hot temperatures.

Re: Hot Tub - Jacuzzi
On the telly programmes you see with people who have these, it all seems a bit pervy when they invite half naked friends around to sit in with them looking at the sunset, sod that for a game of soldiers.
At least with a pool I can escape up the other end from all the un-veeted women.

Two hours strimming today, followed by a quick shower to wash the grass off then relax in the tub with a book. Soothed the aches and pains away a treat.

You should try DA's Veet fro Men option. Using a strimmer could be very dangerousCampo Steve wrote:Two hours strimming today, followed by a quick shower .
