Hi
I don´t suppose anyone would know what "Hormigon De Calidad" is would they!!!!! I know it is cement but just what kind exactly!!!! Nothing in the dictionary except except "Hormigon Armarda" which is reinforced concrete.
Would be really grateful for any light shed on the subject.

Re: Spanish Cement
If its in the predominantly Blue printed bag - its a dark grey cement - well the resultant concrete usually is .. It is designed for Concrete !
The other is in a predominantly Orange/Red bag 'Unidos a la Tierra' which gives a lot lighter cement and usually used for brickwork cement reather than concrete
Both should be the same price, 4.50 - 4.80 Euro depending on suplier

Now 'ere's a thing....When I was young and fit, cement came in 1cwt bags, shortly after we moved down here in 2000 they became 35 kg bags and now they have become 25kg bags...strange thing is..they still feel just as heavy and seem to cost just the same...funny that !

It's the Wagon Wheel effect: when I was young Wagon Wheels were about an inch thick and several feet in diameter....now you can nearly get two in matchbox!

I'ts worth remembering too that Spanish cement is only has less strength (35 newtons p/m2) whereas the English equivalent is 45. I generally mix a whole bag of cement to a mixer full (approx 25 shovels) of sand.
better check the strengths on the bag though as i'm not sure if the figures are 100% accurate

Chorizo's nice but nothing like getting your sausage battered.
Re: Spanish Cement
Here the standard bag ( Holcim ) is 32,5n/m2 & what they call 'extra strength ' , 42,5n/m2. We only changed in early 2003 from 50 kg bags to 35kgs. I thought I'd become fitter & stronger !

actually its "quality cement".
concrete is cement+sand+stones+water.
cement is just the grey powder.
