Plastic water pipe spec?

Postby Bongtrees » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:12 pm

What is the recommended size/type of plastic pipe used to for cold water supply from mains to house?

Have just suffered a horrendous water leak on my property and eventually found split in pipe which is only 5 years old.

I want to ensure the pipe is replaced with something more durable.

This pdf http://www.caloryfrio.com/archivos-cyf/ ... as/taa.pdf tells you what size pipe depending on the pressure (about 3/4 of the way down the doc).

Or put more simply .... there are two sorts of water pipe. Only the size differs.

They are

Agricultural and Drinking .

The visible diference is that the drinking water pipe has a blue strip down its length.

To ask for it its called tubo alimenterio (or something similar sounding)
