Hi Mrfoofrog and welcome to the forum
Sorry you haven't received a useful reply yet perhaps we can help if you could tell us what the problem is.
There are companies that drill wells dig and build seep wells and there are plumbers and electricians that install/repair well pumps, finally not to forget labs that analyse water samples from wells!
A company that describes itself as a well contractor probably is only interested in creating a new well and not in solving problems with an existing well.

What was/is the problem with your borehole? Around where I am a lot are drying up because of the relatively dry winter and very dry summer.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

I would suggest you have a look around for similar houses near yours that have boreholes. Ask them how deep they are. It doesn't mean or guarantee you will hit water but at least you can budget. Even if you hit water it may not give sufficient (500 plus litres a day) and may dry up.

I sometimes wish that we had had a basic "swimming pool sized vessel built the first year we were here. No fancy tiling but a strong container with concrete beams over it and maybe a garage or car ports over it. 70 to 100 cu m. If you caught your rainfall you would only need to tanker in water from April to September. I would allow a generous 700 litres a day usage in your calculations. I think water above ground storage tanks are an outrageous price e.g. 1000 litres=110 euros, 2000= 200,3000 =290 and so on. It might have changed since I looked into it.

I also wouldn't rely on the local water company being oblige under some obscure EU law to connect everyone to mains water. It might happen within 50 years.

Hope that helps.
