Hi, I am trying to stick a weatherproof strip to the bottom of a metal painted door on our terrace we had some superglue but that is no good, can someone recommend an adhesive that would do the job.
Thank you,
allgram.
Adhesive / Glue.
Re: Adhesive / Glue.
I'd try some Sikaflex, they use it for just about everything in the campo, an elastic joint sealant and multipurpose adhesive based on polyurethane, not silicone.

I stuck mine on just using the adhesive backing on the strip but stopped it peeling straight off with four equally space self-tapping screws. Still there, three years later.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Good plan.Campo Steve wrote:I stuck mine on just using the adhesive backing on the strip but stopped it peeling straight off with four equally space self-tapping screws. Still there, three years later.
The metal door will expand and contract with changes in temperature. The draught excluder will probably expand and contract, too. But if it's made from a different metal it will probably change size by a different amount. That will cause stress in any adhesive joint and it will eventually fail.
A mechanical attachment is a much better chioce.

I've successfully used external grade double sided sticky tape, the thin foam sort.
