A lot of work is required on the place we are hoping to move into shortly. A lot of it is plumbing. What is the normal pipe size used in domestic installations? Is it standard 15mm copper?
Also, can someone give me the actual address of the Ferreteria La Llave in Alcala La Real. Google Maps this end can not find Fuente Granada, 1, 23680.
Appreciate any info.
Thanks

15mm, 18mm and 22mm copper are fairly standard but you might want to consider using plastic pipe with push fittings.Alcala Barry wrote: What is the normal pipe size used in domestic installations? Is it standard 15mm copper?
Thanks
Some people find it easier and quicker to use as it is flexible and doesn't need soldering with a blowtorch.
Personally I am old fashioned and use copper with soldered fittings.

In Spain they have 15, 18 and 22mm.
I would recommend 18mm everywhere and 22mm for the hot water to the bath.

Re: Domestic water pipes
If you use the plastic pipe (Which i now liketo you ) make sure you double click it together, its easy to think its clicked completely together if your not used to using it, so much faster
No soporto ver la casa sucia, ahora mismo me levanto y apago la luz.

If you are using plastic and push fit joints don't forget the strengthening inserts for the pipe. If you do you will have a leak. Also buy a pipe cutter, as a non square cut can also leak.
Personally I would always use copper and soldered joints. If connecting into a wet pipe use a compression fitting.

That sounds like good advice to me. I am going to stick with copper and a mix of soldered and compression joints.
