This creeper has suddenly popped up in a flower bed. Never seen it before. It has light green heart shaped leaves and funny little dark brownish/purple funnel flowers.

Re: Plant ID
Not an expert but it looks a bit orchid like to me, my wife says it's a bit like a fuzzy bean
Re: Plant ID
It's a twining creeper, like morning glory. Not sure where it's come from!
Re: Plant ID
A bird probably.

It’s a Dutchman’s Pipe, aka Aristolochia Baetica. Flowers autumn to early spring. Grows near us in the shrubs by the fuente, where it’s shady.

Thank you, that's definitely it . I see some of the descriptions say it is poisonous . It seems to 'eat' flies, which we would be happy with but I can't find out if it's poisonous to animals if they touch it or whether we have to be careful if removing it, as with oleanders.

Re: Plant ID
There’s nothing in my book ( A selection of wildflowers of Southern Spain / Betty Molesworth Allen) about being poisonous, in fact it says back in the 16th century the roots were used for medicinal purposes, but better safe than sorry!
