?anyone tried growing dragon fruit?
a friend gave me 2 plants ...each about 1.5m high ...they are tall and thin and unstable ... I find them difficult to support ... have looked online and it seems they need a sort of cage around them ... has anyone found a good method of support? ... also it said not to water much but ones I have seem to like watering each day ... I have also taken cuttings and they are growing and seem to like a daily drink ... any advice re watering?

I've seen a small area of them on a bit of land just up the hill from us. They seem to have put up wires and somehow have trained them up those. It was a long time before we realised what they were, as they look a bit like a cactus.

I had heard that some farmers were beginning to take an interest in these fruit ... but they are an unweildy plant to grow in a garden!

For plants that need more support I had some offcuts of garden fencing. It comes on a roll, it's squares about 8cm. I just cut off a metre of it, then rolled it around the inside of the pot.
This stuff - comes in rolls 20m × 1m : https://www.bricomart.es/malla-electros ... 53843.html
For some reason now it's 60 euro !! I remember paying 25 or something.
