Telefonicaonline wont accept my NIE number

telefonicaonline wont accept my NIE number

on my factura is printed 00X1234567V (The actual NIE number is X1234567V)

have tried using one less zero in front of X but still says is an error.


Any ideas what format it will accept ?

On the drop down box for type of identification select Tarjeta Extranjero and put in you NIE number starting with the X.

Or maybe the problem is that you have moved house and you don´t know about it!!

If all else fails try putting an 'R' in front of the number. ie RX1234567V or try leaving off the 'X' and adding an extra '0'.

I used the tarjeta box as Sid suggested but had to add 00 in front of my NIE number

And for a lot of others, including I think Vodafone (online), you have to put your NIR numer in the 'residencia' box.....Gawd knows why but it works (and I got THAT piece of advice from here!!!)

You can always select Pasport number instead and use that

Not if you used your NIE when you registered your phone/electricity contract/whatever.....!!!

Registering on-line with Endesa, I found it would only accept my NIE number if I called it a 'Passport' number in the drop-down menu...they just can't accept the "X" prefix if you call it a NIE !
