sky plus not working.

We have a sky plus box,and since we have had to buy a new type card for it,the sky plus doesnt work anymore unless you record the channel that you are watching(which kind of defeats the object)
anyone have any ideas

Do you pay a monthly contract? Sky+ should only work with a Sky contract.
We were lucky a year or so ago to 'inherit' a Sky+ box with a card in it. It only had the free channels, and we did not pay a monthly charge, but it would record. We had an extra LNB installed and it had all the functions. Sadly the facility vanished about 8 months later. I was just getting used to how wonderful it was and it was gone!! I thought about taking out a contract, then the box stopped working altogether. Gutted.

What do you mean by "new type card"? The last new card we had was sent by Sky (Ibelieve to all subscribers) last September.

We did have the old blue coloured card,which has been replaced by the new white one by our sky provider .

No one living in Spain is sent a new card by Sky.You are not meant to have sky here.Many people bring their cards over from UK(that subscribe to sky)but you will not get sent a new card by sky if you live in Spain.
