Channel 4

Postby Campo Steve » Wed Sep 08, 2010 9:55 pm

Over the last two or three days I have been experiencing pixelation and sound breakup on Channel 4 on my Sky receiver. It hasn't been happening on my Freesat receiver.

I have tried another Sky box, same problem.

Before I get the dish alignment checked, has anyone else had problems with Channel 4 on Sky?
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

I have had probs in the past and found changing to channel 994 gave a better reception.

Yes, CH4 has been breaking up on my Bush Freesat receiver, too. My dish alignment seems OK with all other channels.

I often find Channel 4 breaks up - not all the time but at certain times of the day.

One solution is watch the programme 1 hour later on Channel 4+1 (on Sky 135 or 995). I have never experienced problems with the plus one version of channel 4.

My C4 + 1 E4 E4+1 and more4 breaks up in the early evening.

Its seems like the signal has become weaker for these channels.

I have the same problem. When I try and record using Sky+, unless I have the channel on before I press the record button I always receive a "failure" notice, I can never setup the record facility the day before with this channel, strange!!

All my other channels are fine.

Channel 4 is always a problem especially in the evening.

Anyone else having the same difficulty.

Jk.

As Douglas Adams once said - DONT PANIC -

There is rather abnormal solar flare activity at the moment and its interfereing with satalite transmissions both day and night - This could be the reason for so many channels being affeted when you consider the degree of accuracy needed to set up the perfect alignment for down here.
Live with it for a bit and see if it gets better with time, before shelling out 30E for a re-alignment
