Can an iphone be connected to "stand alone" speakers with a 3.5mm jack cable. They're portable speakers that the iphone wont "dock" with ?
Cheers

It's worth noting that while it's perfectly possible to connect some portable speakers to the iPhone via a standard 3.5mm jack that unless the speakers are powered externally (batteries or mains) that the volume will be extremely low as the iPhone obviously doesn't have an inbuilt headphone amp and the 3.5mm output is designed for low impedance headphones rather than speakers.
