Running Processes ?

Postby 10RDan » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:14 pm

Is there a way to stop "processes" runing automaticaly ?

I can "stop" them in the task manager but would like to stop them starting in the first place.
It is 2 or 3 processes linked to itunes, I downloaded it recently for my sons ipod although I didn't want to use it there didn't seem to be a decent alternative.

thanks

Depends on exactly what it is you want to stop.

In your case it sounds like MSCONFIG would be where you want to stop them from loading when you start Windows.

Depending on what version of Windows you're using go to the search box and type "MSCONFIG", press enter and click on the "Startup" tab. There you can see all the programs and services that start when Windows loads.

It's been years since I used XP but you just need to type "MSCONFIG" in the "Run.." box instead.

Most people use CCleaner or similar, just go into tools, Start up, and disable what you don't want.
