Trouble ordering on Amazon

Postby concorde » Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:23 pm

I'm going round the bend tonight, i've tried again to order with Amazon and every time I get to the checkout my basket is empty!!!!! There's a big message telling me this.
It did this last night as well.
I've tried everything I can think of, clearing cookies, signing in again and reordering after deleting basket contents.
The ironic thing is every time i do go back on the site, my list of books are there in a preview.
anyone any ideas.
By the time I get to ordering my ruddy books I'll have gone off them.

Help

Easy test - Try another browser and see if the problem replicates itself.

Hi .Griff,
I haven't got another browser and don't really want to download one just to try Amazon. I'm using Internet Explore 8, I'm sure I've had this problem before, contacted Amazon and they told me to delete cookies.
Having just typed this, I've got a funny feeling that although I've deleted them I've possible kept Amazon in my list of those not to be deleted!

So possible I've just answered my own question :lolno:

Back to the drawing board.

No joy I'm afraid,

just removed Amazon from cookies then tried to order.
A message came up saying I had to have their cookie before I could order.
So, I allow them in, try to reorder and it's back to square one.

I'm just going to have to have a friend or neighbour order for me and pay them, if I can't sort this out by tomorrow.

Trying a new browser is hardly a big ordeal. Just download Firefox, try Amazon and then delete Firefox if you so wish. It would take 5 minutes at most.

Seems a lot more logical than getting someone else to order items on your behalf. Not to mention Firefox is infinitely better than IE8 but that's another subject.

.Griff, everything today is a big deal, I can't do anything right and should have stayed in bed.

Amazon have just replied to me and completely ignored what I was telling them and told me to check my credit card, of course it's fine, I already knew that.

So just replied back to them on my O.H. laptop as he got the message. Don't ask..... he refuses to have his own e-mail address so all messages etc come into either both at the same time or one or the other, very confusing and frustrating at times, but that's normai in this house

Anyway, I just happened to try Amazon on his, there were things on he was looking at, I deleted those and put in my order, it went straight through.

So now Amazon have got my message saying I can't get past the basket stage but now if they look they'll see I've ordered and paid. They will think I'm a nut.

talking of baskets..... I am now a basket case
