What speed does your contract specify?
Remembering that the quoted upload speed is a up to speed and you could be getting less.
My quoted upload speed is 3.6 Mb/s I usually get around 2 to 2.5 Mb/s

I phoned Telefonica the other day a and asked if they could do anything to reduce my 6Mb package now that its over 2 years old ...

They reduced it at a stroke from 40.90E/m to 25.90 E/m with the 13.95E/m +IVA

This wasnt an incentive or a limited time offer - this was a regular monthly price

...every little helps

First job tomorrow! (Last time I tried, they were totally dismissive)

You need to give them a call to have free calls to mobiles at the weekend. As has already been said, every little helps.

I was looking at that on the website - you can add it online, but I can't find the catch (there must be one!) I don't really need free calls to mobiles at weekends, but I'll call them and start with that perhaps.

The catch is that you need to activate it, Why can't they just do it automatically?

Bloody good question. I wonder how they can charge different customers different prices for the exact same product?
Anyway.......
I rang today, and SUCCESS! They have reduced my 6M ADSL from 39,80€ to 25,90€, added the free calls to landlines and free calls to any mobile at weekends (it's actually 500 minutes free, but who the Hell talks that much?)(yes, I know, every teenager....)
With the IVA factored in, I'll be saving a little over 16€ a month. Happy days.

Thanks Mowser and others, after their response last time, I wouldn't have bothered again if you hadn't posted here.

I was also told it will take a week or so to "activate" (why?) so will try to remember to post back when the next bill comes to confirm all went well (hopefully)

Looking for a replacement "libre" mobile - I have a Movistar PAYG card - and saw (in Worten) the Nokia 2720, which is adequate for my needs, for 59 euros. Alternatively, for 29 euros, you can buy the same 'phone as part of a "pack tarjeta", which includes 10 euros credit. I don't need the new tarjeta or the number that comes with it, but the logical (if logic comes into this) thing would be to buy the "pack", use up the 10 euros credit, then put my old card in the new 'phone and carry on using my old number. Has the world gone mad, or is it me?

And if you can answer that one......

Text message received (on my mobile) from 1004 today:

Anybody? Plain English, or even plain Spanish would be appreciated.

Not very helpful, guys. :( What calls exactly is this referring to? Seems strange I received this shortly after the call I made to them, during which they kindly offered me free calls to all landlines. I'm just not clear what it refers to. I have been using Direct-Telecom for landline calls, by using an access code. Could it mean that if I use their service, Movistar will bill me too?

something like ...
as from april fools day calls to redirection numbers will be charged at standard rate as in the movistar price catalogue

maybe they are saying that if you are trying to use one of your free calls to landline numbers to call a number that then re-directs your call onwards in some way , then from 1st april that free call won´t be free.
