Patricia ... just check that any device you get will be compatible with your tablet ...I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ....they say it will work with that model - until you put in the model number P1000
Even Samsung Smart View 2 wont work with my model of tablet - even though they are both Samsung
Very disappointing !

I think what you need is Chromecast.
There is, however, a known bug (which is being worked on), affecting Adroid ICS (4.0.0 - 4.0.4) devices working with Filmon, so check what you have first!

Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

From a none Techy person! I have an HDMI cable for my BQ Edison which I can attach to my Samsung Smart TV or my none Smart Toshiba TV. I bought the cable from their web site. I probably use it more for the radio than TV as I get a better sound. But when hubby watches the TV he does so without problems.

Is that the Android app or the XBMC addon?peteroldracer wrote:Take care looking for 1channel, as when I googled it I got one of those 'virus' warnings, trying to sell you a cleaner or something worse...
I have both installed although I use mostly the XBMC addon. had no problems or issues with it and no warnings from my Android Avast AV
Seems that they have changed the name to PrimeTime now. Try searching for that.

Hi patricia,
Google........ Samsung galaxy tablet 'your tablet model' connect to TV
Should give you the cable you're looking for.

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
OK I will try that, it would be great because I have no buffering at all on the tablet

I have just completed 46 hours of golf (well done Rory) on an €80 tablet and 1 Mb line speed and not 1 second of buffering. I must have Super Internet. Thank you Iberbanda.

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
Lucky you ajtg1952..... I have a Macclesfield box and have encountered extensive buffering today whilst trying to watch the golf, German GP, and now Dragons Den.
My laptop receives data at 8Mbps download speed (speedtest), My Macclesfield box is currently showing 0.54 Mbps download and 2.85Mbps upload. Both from the same internet provider.
I have tried switching between VPN1 and VPN2 with no improvement, I have unplugged/replugged the router..... I think I will give up and go to bed !!!
Does anyone else encounter similar problems ? Could it be that the VPNs are overloaded and cannot cope with the demand ?

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
You will get much better results if you stop using the provided VPN and use a SmartDNS. The VPN that the "Macclesfield" box comes with does seem to have gone to pot recently with big drops in speed when connected. Call support and get them to change it. You are not the first person to have had problems with it.
As an experiment, turn it off and then check the speed again.
About the only app that needs a full VPN as opposed to a Smart DNS is TVCatchup.

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
If ou were using BBC Iplayer, then it has been experiencing huge problems this weekend, with lots of downtime, lots of buffering, no updates...etc..
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it
Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
Hi all,
It has been a while since I last visited. A little birdie (Thank-you Pat) mentioned you were discussing VPN's & buffering etc so thought I would pop by.
We all know that the weakest part of this equation is the speed & quality of your internet connection. The speed test on the box isn't giving you accurate data about your connection, it is measuring latency of your connection to our servers, and often not very accurately.
You all have 2 VPN's on there, which you should be changing about if you have issues.
Router reboots are also essential at least once a day.
The VPN infrastructure in place servicing our boxes is more than capable of serving all of you at the same time many times over.
That said, as you will be aware, we introduced a while ago, Assisted Bandwidth Connection servers which are designed to resolve issues of buffering for probably no more than 20% of you.
This is an additional cost & works by routing your traffic through our servers in Spain, Portugal, & France, giving you better speeds & performance with less problems
SmartDNS solutions will not slow down your connection, that is true.
I will not work however with the main apps on the box used to deliver Live UK content (last time I checked, I shall revisit later)
It will only work on BBC Iplayer & ITV player.
Any specific customers having persistent buffering issues are requested to raise a support query on the website or option 2 on the phone line.
More options coming soon......
