How do you find where the WiFi hotspots are in Andalucia please? More specifically in Granada province. I have found one or two hotels in Granada city and I presume both Malaga and Granada airport have WiFi.

I have just found www.WiFium.com but that doesn't show any airports so I suspect is not a full list.

No Starbucks in this area. Might be in Granada but I try and avoid it since they put all the bus only lanes in and cameras to nab the confused and or elderly

Don't think for are any reliable listings of WiFi hotspots.
You often find a WiFi hotspot in a bar/ restaurant /hotel / shopping centre.
McDonalds have a WiFi hotspot.
Just look out for a WiFi Aqui sign.

I can remember driving around Spain with a wifi tracker on the laptop, nearly always found something to use. Problem is a lot more people have their connections protected nowadays. There are apps out there if you are using an iphone.

The alsa buses are fab, It takes me over 3 hours to Malaga airport, but I don't notice it now with the wifi, the wifi in Malaga airport was free when I last used it in November.

Hi masterob,

"It's free in the departure lounge, well it was last December."...........not strictly true as you have had to purchase a ticket to get in there(the lounge).........

Hi Enrique.

I take your point, both points! Pedantry rules!

I think, but not 100% sure, that free WiFi is also available in the check-in area but I suppose that is not strictly true because there is a cost in just getting to the Airport!

Interesting. Don't use Granada airport but last December I used the WiFi in the Departure lounge at Malaga and never paid anything. Guess I was just lucky!

I found this site that supposedly shows wifi hotspots:

http://www.quewifi.es/wifi-en-malaga.htm

You can move / zoom around the map to see different areas. But the interesting (disappointing) thing is how few wifi spots are shown. However, there are many Fonera spots - this is a sort of 'crowdsourced' wifi hotspot service:

http://corp.fon.com/en

It looks like you have to buy a little 'bug' for €39 and then supposedly you can connect and use the shared wifi for free thereafter. Has anyone used this service?

Malaga airport wifi is free. You need to input a mobile number to acess it. I used a random number from an add in a free sheet.

Good thinking! I'll have to try that next time I'm there. I thought you had to log in with a local phone / data account to get access.
