Sending an email via word template

Postby RichardCoeurdeLion » Sat Mar 09, 2013 11:02 am

Sometimes, on a web site there is a "contact us by email option", but no email address is given.

When I click the contact box a light blue and white template comes up which is part of word, and has a heading HTML message.

The emai address is already inserted and there is space to type a message.

However there is no "send" box to click

How do I complete the process please?

Ideas?

It's the web page for a school I deal with, but I've come across the problem several times before with other sites.

My browser is Intenet explorer I think

Can you give the URL of one of the sites?
I, or someone else, can have a look to see if we get the same problem or not.
Sometimes difficult to solve a problem if we can't see the problem.

PM received
When I click on the link it brings up a write screen, in Thunderbird,my email client, which has my email address the address of the person I am contacting etc.
I can then compose a meesage and hit the send button.
What do you use for your email client?

Hi RCL,
You're using a web mail client, Gerry is using a local client hence he can email direct.......

Steady on CM,
My reading of OP.............
If he had a local email client ie Thunderbird then when he clicked on site Contact it will pull up his email program and he is ready to type direct into this. As he has a Webmail account it just defaults to Word.

Hi RCL
Now we have established you are using Hotmail then perhaps a Hotmail user can help you.
As I stated no problem here using Thunderbird, I don't use Hotmail so can't give any further advice on your problem.

Thanks everyone

I'll see if I can paste in the screen I see.

Enrique.

You said my system defaults to Word, which seems correct.

So why is there no "send" key to click.

chunky........... you asked what it's all about.

Some organisations have on their website a link to enable you to contact them by email, rather than just giving the email address. In my case when I click the link i'm sent to a form (word) where i can type a message, but can't send on. In actual fact the email address is embeded in the form so i can use it in the trad way.

Thanks Enrique for going to that trouble

Almost there, but not quite!

I have 2007 edition

Followed the instructions in the tutorial no problem. The "send to mail recipient" icon appears in the quick access tool bar just to the right of the office button.

However when I click the link on the web site and the word template appears, the icon is missing in the tool bar. If I close the template and reopen word on its own the icon reappears!

Ideas?

Hi RCL,
Have a read.................

http://www.msoutlook.info/question/144

I still think you need a local mail client to achieve this..........any Office 2007 experts out there.. :?:

Thanks again Enrique.

The second link confirmed what I had done. Only difference was in the last print screen image, the "send to mail recipient" icon was there, but in my case it's gone.

Looks like I'll just have to send a normal email

thanks for your time.
