Re: Alternatives to Filmon ?
Not many, as most "free and non subscription" service will use the filmon feeds / streams.
But some subscription based iptv / internet tv services source channels using their own servers, not filmons.
But for free, you will be struggling.
Or just don't watch channel five...there are plenty of reasons (programmes) not to!!!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Does Demand5 do live channels now? Thought it was catch up only?

For this you need to enter the nether world of torrent downloading from a suitable torrent host such as eztv.itwhat is the best way to download UK TV shows on avi of mp4 format? does anyone know?
To download a torrent , you will need to have a torrent manager program installed such as u-torrent.
There is some debate as to whether this is always legal but if the option is there ... .. if its illegal its down to the authorities to block the site.

Catchup only. You can also get it on Youtube if you click "subscribe."

Cheers thought so, but never venture to C5 as there is nothing on there to watch.Mowser wrote:satguy

In the UK many torrent sites have been blocked - but then "mirror" sites are established to get around these.Martin Page wrote: There is some debate as to whether this is always legal but if the option is there ... .. if its illegal its down to the authorities to block the site.
However in Spain, Snides Law may affect torrent sites and "illegal downloads" in Spain...

"The reforms see the right to private copying only covering legally obtained media, meaning that in theory file-sharers could be prosecuted for their downloads from unauthorized sources."

Apart from that. it's the worst channel. Even the documentaries are bad, that terrible American style. where they pad out programmes by repeating bits all the time.

Re: Alternatives to Filmon ?
You can use a free YouTube downloader such as this from DVDSoft http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dv ... wnload.htm , I haven't used this program myself because I don't download videos from YouTube. I do use their 'Free YouTube to MP3 Converter' for downloading music as mp3s, it is excellent.john the baptist wrote:[Hi could you please expand on exactly how you get Five programs on You Tube??? would it then be possible to download programs directly from YT
When you are on YouTube just search for the program you are interested in.

Re: Alternatives to Filmon ?
Apologies, I miss understood, i thought that you could get the equivalent of the Five I player on You Tube, or even watch some programs direct.
I understand now that you can only look up individual shows, assuming its been uploaded by someone.
For that a torrent download would be just as easy.

Re: Alternatives to Filmon ?
Presuming you have a TV with HDMI inputs get yourself an Android TV dongle (but be aware: there are lots of poor quality ones out there) that connects to the WiFi on your Internet router. Then you can d/l the Filmon app and watch that.john the baptist wrote: to watch it on my big TV.?

And of course remember that any TV signal from a streaming source will look pretty awful on a large HD TV.
It might be better to watch it on a laptop or tablet.

Thanks gerryh for the link - However despite the download being free, the facility to unblock access to UK TV links comes at a price, I think they are requesting around £20 a month, which is a big expense to outlay for something that may not work.gerryh wrote

Re: Alternatives to Filmon ?
That is not Expat Shield - it is Hotspot Shield and is designed to allow access to US sites not UK ones.
