Chrome problem

Postby Mowser » Tue Oct 08, 2013 12:35 pm

1 There's a newspaper site I was checking out (Daily Record ... I know it's rubbish but I was there anyway).
I was going to comment on something but when I see the comments I get the message "Please wait while we perform your request). The messages show but they are "greyed out".
I don't have this problem with IE or Firefox. Is there a setting in Chrome I can examine to try and fix this?

2 From time to time when I key in a web site, I get the spinning wheel (searching) and nothing happens.
Should I uninstall Chrome then reinstall?

Hi Mowser,
A possible quick fix.......... uninstall using Revouninstaller...as a star pupil you will have this in your Tool Kit...... :D

http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni ... nload.html

Reboot system then install a clean copy of Chrome............ report back.

If it doesn't work post problem web site link as well so I have something to work with......
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Aargh! It's done it again. I was reading about Nacho Nova and the same problem has happened.

I've had the same problem many times. Also BBC iPlayer, Filmon and a live football stream were constantly buffering. It's not a speed problem at my end, I download at 10 to 13mbs.

I closed & restarted Chrome and restarted my router which cured the problem. Next time it happens, I'll just do one or the other to narrow down which cures the problem.

I find switching off and on the router does seem to make a difference.Maybe it's in my head.

I can't see it being a router problem in my case. I can access the site using IE or Firefox.

I found a Chrome derivative called CoolNovo which used to be called Chrome Plus. It is Chrome but less bloated. I was often frustrated when extension buttons failed to work in Chrome but CoolNovo rarely has this problem. When CoolNovo is installed it picks up most of your Chrome settings.

Found out the problem with the constant re-loading on a certain site. It was the pop-up blocker. I disabled it for that site and all is well.
