ZenMate

Postby SpanishBlue » Tue Dec 31, 2013 1:58 am

Just wondering if anyone has come across ZenMate, a browser plugin available for Google Chrome.

https://zenmate.io/home/

In the UK I use it for getting around location restrictions that would otherwise stop me watching non-UK TV.

If used in Spain, I don't see any reason why you can't use it to access BBC iPlayer and the like.

As I'm no longer in Spain I can't try it out myself, but would be interested to hear if anyone uses it as a way to watch UK TV in Spain.

Works well with BBC iPlayer but doesn't seem to allow you to use the download option.

It has no effect on connection speed at all.

Seems to work fine. Apart from the Iplayer option, I'm going to keep it swiched on for a couple of days because it might be the solution to getting my internet searches to come up in English

Hi Mark,
If you set your home page to www.google.co.uk searches come up in English with a Spanish IP.

I have a link to Google UK but I don't want it as my home page. I use the address bar and it's easier said than done.I scoured the net, asked on here and the closest we got was Google.com

I use a different Chrome extension for watching/downloading iPlayer, etc but I am not going to give the link again otherwise some people may think I have a financial interest.

Go on tell us please. I can't seem to get any of the extensions to work with the iPlayer download option - it just sits there doing nothing when I try to download.

This one is free but there is also a pro version with faster servers and more channels.
