Go back to Windows 7!
Or install a proper VPN or Smart DNS for about €3.50 a month.

If you're serious about watching UK TV then best to go along Sid's route .

Downloaded and installed Expat Shield on both my Win 8.1 systems.
Runs OK but I have gone for a proper VPN, Astrill.
Cheers

Hi,
ZenMate, used with Google Chrome......great add-on thanks SB for posting this the other week.......
Great for watching live UK TV but doesn't allow downloading iPlayer programs for watching later.

Expat Shield is from the same stable as Hotspot Shield but when I tried it some time ago it only worked for unblocking US sites.

Mine gives me the choice of several locations worldwide, you can change it as and when you desire. Works with Five Live and ITV player a treat

Re: expat shield equivalent for windows 8
That probably explains it. At $4.99/month, it's no cheaper than a VPN or Smart DNS.
