is this a costa rumour(like disney)
i was told the other day that a new satellite was being launched and all our tv woes will be over TRUE OR COSTA RUMOUR
Re: is this a costa rumour(like disney)
I would respectfully suggest it is a load of rubbish.
Was the "information" from someone who was trying to sell you the equipment needed to receive TV from the new satellite?
Cheers

The third and final new UK TV satellite, 2G, is expected to launch later this year - and be operational early next year.sick and tired wrote:i was told the other day that a new satellite was being launched
Its launch has been delayed by a few Proton rocket failures, and embargos on Russia for its recent foreign policy.
2G has the same design, and therefore will have similar reception, to the other 2 new uk tv satellites 2e and 2f.sick and tired wrote: and all our tv woes will be over TRUE OR COSTA RUMOUR
2G will be used for those channels on the old UK TV satellite, 2A, and for backup purposes.
In fact, the move of channels from 2As north beam to 2G may mean an improvement for some channels. For example where I am the 2a north beam is just about available 24/7 on a 2,4m dish. Move them to 2Gs UK or Europe beam, and we are looking at a dish half that size!
And anyway, why would the UK TV channels (bbc itv c4 five) want to move from their permanent satellites 2e and 2f, to another satellite...?
And even if they did, they would go onto 2Gs UK beam, so would be pretty much the same as the uk beams that are on at the moment.

Ive just heard of the new high gain system in Alicante on a 1.4 metre high gain dish. Perfect picture quality in that area.
Is this an option on the CDS?

"high gain" - marketing crapcostakid wrote:high gain
Dish will actually measure about 125x135cm - take into account the outer rim - 130x140cm.costakid wrote:a 1.4 metre high gain dish. Perfect picture quality in that area.
But then there has been a dish of this size that has been around for ages - and performs well today.....in that area.
The signals in Alicante are much stronger than in the CDS, so no, this sized dish will not get the UK beam channels in the CDS like it does in COsta Blancacostakid wrote:Is this an option on the CDS?

Think about it for a bit:sick and tired wrote:hi satandpcguy sorry for my ignorance but does that answer mean no
Why would a new UK TV satellite, with the same specification as the first two new UK TV satellites, solve your "TV woes"?
The answer is "it probably will not", and the rumour you have heard is probably incorrect.
And what woes - the signals are there, you simply need a larger dish now than what you have been used to for the last 15 years....you now the same size that we in the Costa Blanca have needed for the last 15 years.
