I have had no end of grief sorting out which Smart DNS to use.
it seems that every Smart DNS provider has a issue with one of the Samsung smart TV's Apps
I have a list of those that I have trailed , and subscribed to ....only to find out that there is a problem ...
I have raised tickets with a few of the more approachable ones only to be told there is no problems resulting in voting with my feet ....Next !
Most fall short with Demand Five. Some on E4 ...and of late, a lot more on ITV Player
I finally made contact with a very helpful guy at Unotelly He actually listened to the problem (in their case Demand 5) and made an effort to fix it ... things are looking very good so far.
At last I might have found a Smart DNS provider that can Offer FULL smart DNS for a Samsung Smart TV

If you are still having problems try unlocator.com , their system has worked for all apps on my Samsung TV since I bought it 10 months ago. Jeff

Unblockus have recently updated the Channel 4 and Five support.
All of them work on my £10 NOW TV box

UNblockUs and unlocator appeared to work for me too ... But have you tried to watch a whole program on demand 5 ... both of those failed for me after the first advert break . the ads ran fine but the start of the second part of the program stuttered badly as to be un watchable .... it also dropped the program at times ....

That sounds more like a connection problem rather than a Smart DNS problem. The Smart DNS will either work or not work - it should not affect the connection speed by more than about 5%.

Sorry sid .. that's not True .... the theory is sound ... but alas the reality doesn't hold up ...
I have found out that routing is one of the problems. Especially over here in Spain once telefonica have control .... - try doing a TRACERT ***.***.***.*** from the DOS CMD prompt
