The Pirate Bay

Glad I'm not the only one peteroldracer.
Re: The Pirate Bay
Quite amusing reading some responses to this. Many posters here have a VPN so they can watch BBC. When you access BBC TV there's a messge saying
When you click "find out why" there's a message sayingBBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only. Find out why.
If you are in the UK and see this message please read this advice.
I suppose it all boils down to what is more illegal.Because of rights agreements you can only download or stream BBC iPlayer TV programmes while you’re inside the UK.

Re: The Pirate Bay
Yes, articles about the demise of TPB are all over the internet like a rash, not surprisingly. As a result, the overall volume of torrent downloading traffic has increased since. Would seem to be a shot in the foot for the copyright police.firsttango wrote:A tremendous bit of FREE advertising for The Pirate Bay in its new guise courtesy of the BBC
If looking for comparisons to TV channels being watched illegally, I should imagine there are far more people in Spain watching UK Sky Sports & Movies now, than before the satellite for the FTA channels was changed - but with no corresponding increase in Sky subscriptions.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

As for UK tv programs i cant find them anywhere in particularly "Steph and Dom meets Nigel Farage"
Any recondmendations of where to look??? (just saying LOOK) no need to call the A.com Police.
Lets see how long this message stays on the site.
Please PM if people do not want to post. thanks

Re: The Pirate Bay
I found it on 4OD and a torrent site.
Although I don't normally need to use torrent sites I decided to do a test and it downloaded nice and quickly so even with slow internet speeds, you should have it within a couple of hours.
For 40D use Zenmate.

Re: The Pirate Bay
I wasn't referring to the content available, only the number of users accessing it. Don't even know how you would be able to determine whether the content available has increased or decreased; I was only quoting articles I've read that state that torrent traffic has increased, which just seems logical. People who wouldn't normally bother, are probably trying it out because of all the publicity surrounding it (MarkW, for one!)Acen wrote:Has it increased? Re: The Pirate Bay
That's true,
I downloaded something the other day just to see if I could. I haven't watched it and I doubt I will that way.

Re: The Pirate Bay
Seems to be back, much the same as before
Re: The Pirate Bay
I thought i'd give this a look and used uTorrent to download a film from Pirate Bay. Apart from Windows Media player not recognising the compression codec for the downloaded file I had a constant panic from Malwarebytes Pro about nasties trying to do my system harm. Is this usual? What am I missing here or is there a way to do this safely - and be able to watch the resulting download!
Brian.

If watching on computer use VLC Player, as it recognises virtually every file formatrafiki wrote:I Apart from Windows Media player not recognising the compression codec for the downloaded file!
Re: The Pirate Bay
Thanks, I tried it earlier after Mark's post - nada, which was why I asked.
Re: The Pirate Bay

Re: The Pirate Bay
This is not meant to be a holier than though type answer but that is the risk you take when using sites like Pirate Bay. Some are riddled with nasties that will infect and take over your computer and/or do an identity theft and empty your bank account.rafiki wrote:... It is your choice whether or not you are willing to take the risk.
