Vpn help

Postby sungoddess » Sun Mar 29, 2015 5:23 pm

Hi
I need some sound advice about the above, I admit to knowing nothing about it at all. I need to hide my location but only on a couple of sites. I don't mind if the majority of the sites I visit know where I am. So, my question is, can I turn the Vpn on and off easily? Or is there something else I can use just on a couple of sites.
Help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

If you use Google Chrome have a look at the browser extension "zenmate" you can easily turn on or off and show your location as 1 of 5 choices...US/UK/HK/Germany/Switzerland.

The Hola addon works on Firefox and chrome and any Android device.
https://hola.org/
It's free works well and you can select which country you want to use and which sites you want to use it on.

Thanks for the suggestions but I use Windows on my laptop and have an Amazon Fire tablet which does not seem to support Hola. Even my phone is a Windows Nokia phone, so can't use that either.
Any ideas?

Doesn't seem to like my 8.1 but then I get a lot of that. Might have to install Chrome or find another way.

What "Doesn't seem to like my 8.1"?
I use the Hola add on in Firefox on my Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 systems without any problems.

Gerry, tried to obtain the Hola app but, although it says free, when it came up it said start your 7 day free trial. Why is this.

Are you talking about trying to install Hola?
Possibly you have downloaded the wrong version of Hola.
Have a look at http://hola.org/download?list=1 and select the download appropriate for your OS and browser.

There is a free version and a premium, paid for version.
Just need to download the free version.
Here is a list of the free version for different OSs and browsers.

Thank you everybody. I have gone down the Chrome line and have installed it as an alternative browser. Have then used the Zenmate extension which worked really well.
All done

With Zenmate you get 500 free then if you want more you have to pay. However you switch it off if not needed.

OK the facts................

"The Android app in addition to that is available as a free and premium version. The free version is limited to 500 Megabyte of traffic per month while premium traffic is not limited."
