Meetic

Postby morlandg » Mon Apr 06, 2015 10:42 am

Recently I have found that when booting up windows the above programme opens up in IE. The actual URL is www.gevergever.net/meetic_back. If I close the session with the * at the top RHS the screen just refreshes.
I use Firefox as my browser and today I have found that IE has opened up on top of Firefox and shows the Meetic home page. I have looked for Meetic in revo Uninstaller but to no avail.
How do I get rid of this pest?

Hi morlandg,
Sounds like you have a Browser Hi-Jacker.............

So download Adwcleaner................Scan , Clean and reboot.

adwcleaner cleaner should be in everybody's "toolbox" for use in cleaning up nasties which everybody, however careful, will get some time another.
Just make sure you download the latest version, it gets regularly updated as new nasties are created, from the link Enrique gave.
If you just Google adwcleaner you might download a fake version which will install more nasties.

This problem is still with me. I think it is something to do with utorrent. I have utorrent pinned to the quickstart bar and it's when I open it that the meetic window opens up. Not always just sometimes... strange. Meetic doesn't seem to open on booting up Windows so that's a start at least.

Hi morlandg,
Looks to be a "feature" of that version of utorrent , forums out there are saying.
