I have an HOB110 all in one printer fax scanner. With my old PC running W7 when I wanted to use Windows Fax and Scan it started giving a message that it couldn't find a scanner. My new PC W8.1 is doing the same. The printer is in a different room than the PC but connected to the same wireless network. It is set as default printer. And prints OK. I can scan using the Ipad from the same room as the PC.but I want to scan quite a few documents and save them to a hard drive connected to the PC. Any suggestions? Why would it print OK but tell me no scanner can be found when it is all in one.?
Any suggestions?

Scanner problem
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!
Re: Scanner problem
Check for new drivers on the makers website.

Re: Scanner problem
Hi Campo Steve,
Have a similar problem , could print over the wireless network from a computer that was over the other side of the house to the printer but could not scan, had to put a wireless extender in the printer room now all is working ok.
I used a TP-LInk TL-WA850RE, the rest of the network is running on a TP-Link Router.

Re: Scanner problem
Thanks Enrique. I have actually just relocated the printer and it is only 12 inches from the router and problem persists . Driver seems to be up to date strange.

Re: Scanner problem
Hi Campo Steve,
I'm not getting any hits on HOB110 all in one printer fax scanner, did you mean HP Envoy 110
Have you installed the full feature software, not just the Basic printer Drivers
Have you tried running any Diagnostic software.
HP diags...............
http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c02073861
Not go any further until you confirm printer Make and Model.
Thanks

Re: Scanner problem
it's an HP B110a printer scanner. I went to control panel and removed it then went to HP support site and downloaded new driver. Now working properly. Going to keep it in its new position as more convenient being able to reach it from in front of PC.
Thanks for your help
