Gmail - Android Issue!

Postby telboy » Mon Oct 26, 2015 8:12 pm

My OH has a new toy, :D - a tablet using Android 4.4, she has a gmail account for emailing however, she cant seem to access a replied emails, when opening the replied message her own sent gmail appears but no replied email below it :wtf: I've had a look at it but can't figure it out. If I open up the gmail through my MacBook everything seems OK, I could read it and reply to it - it must be an Android problem :!:

On a forum I found a query to a similar problem with Gmail and Android dated 2012, which stated that there was a problem. Gmail claimed they would send a fix. Surely 3 years on the problem would have been ironed out.

Anyone have an answer to the problem :?:

Hi telboy,
Works ok( for me ) for Android 4.4.4 with GMail 5.7.105345578

Try clearing the Gmail App Cache and restarting the system.............

Not seen any current problem relating to yours.

What Make and Model is the Tablet,,,,,,,,,,,,,some use "custom" software.......... :?:

If all else fails, delete the account and then re-enter the account.

Enrique - The tablet is a Sunstech CA7DUAL 7" it came with many apps installed including Gmail, Chrome etc. Tried what you suggested without success.

Mowser - Seems to have worked by creating a new gmail account after deleting the previous.

Cheers guys my OH is as happy as Larryetta

Hi telboy,
What I would do..........as its new and not much been done on the Tablet.......

Reset to Factory settings and Clear all Data.........This will get it back to "out of the box" state.

You want to start at section "how to restore a tablet to factory state"

https://translate.google.co.uk/translat ... rev=search

Then setup Google Account first and check out Gmail ...........

If you don't already have the user guide you can get it, in English(not a Google translation) from https://sunstech.com/en/tablets-7/2222-CA7DUAL
Instructions for factory reset on page 12.

Cheers guys tried that, same problem though.

Returned emails do not appear in the In Box Folder although they appear in the All Mail Folder, and no other folder. However if the returned email is put in the trash folder and opened from their it will then appear with the sent and returned email. I think the issue is with emails that are continually send back and forth. The solution is to create a fresh email each time.

Cheers
