HTML Problem

Postby TerryC » Fri Dec 04, 2015 5:35 pm

Due to a slow internet connection I download most of my programmes to a lap top and then watch them on TV later via an HTML cable. A few times lately the TV has told me "No Signal" when I#ve attached the computer to the TV. The only way around this I have found is to do a system restore which is pretty time consuming.

The laptop has windows vista installed.

This problems sometimes seems to occur after a Windows update but other times too.

Does anybody know what the problem is and how I can correct it.

Thanks - TerryC

It could be something as simple as your HDMI cable has become intermittently faulty over time and frequent use...I would either check cable first or shell out for a new one.

Under Windows, PCs (presumably lapstops too) have the facility to run a second screen/tv via HDMI (or other) cable. The working screen can appear on the PC's own screen, or the additional screen, or both.

If you hit Start-P (Windows-P) on the keyboard, you will see the four options:
- Computer only
- Duplicate (= same on both screens)
- Extend (= desktop can be spread across both screens)
- Projector only (= second screen only)

Select the one you need. Audio will transfer as well as video.
Use mouse to drag content from one screen to the other.
Hit maximise to make a small window fill the tv screen.
