Agreed in the circumstances
Sorry the router model and ISP post must have appeared while I was editing my post hence didn't see it until after I posted.

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick
Thanks again. I have emailed Cactus support, but really I think the best thing is to leave well alone. It's working, and that is what matters, and I know what to do if it stops. Thanks for the help - I am sorry to have wasted your time.

If you're happy and its working you haven't wasted anyones time...just always check your ip is validated on your Cactus client page if you get a problem. Enjoy

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick
Hi, I realise this is a very old post but looking for info on how to set up my Amazon Firestick 4k, I want to load bbciPlayer , itv hub etc etc I have smartydns can be put this directly into the stuck via settings ? Or does it have to go in the TP link router ?
I am absolutely rubbish at tech and really need an idiots guide !
Also I purchased this on the Spanish site but it registered to our UK amazon we received a welcome email so I re-registered and re-registered but didn't receive a welcome email, is that ok or should I start again ?

Hi Daisymay1,
Probably best to put DNS settings in the Router
Please Post TP-Link router Model number and I'll give you procedure for doing above........
Mark is you're man for the other stuff.......no Fire Stick here

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick
I find the simplest method to install apps on the firestick which aren't available in the amazon app store is to use the apps2fire app on your tablet. Install apps2fire from the playstore. Then it's simply a case of starting the app, connect the firestick after which you can send any app installed on your tablet to the firestick.
Be aware tho that not all apps will work. For example you can install the freeview app, but when you start it you will get a message that it needs access to playstore to function.
It should alread hav iplayer etc installed, or get them from the amazon app store.
Had my firestick for a few months and find I'm using it in prefetence to my android box, which now i pretty much only use for Kodi.

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick
I think I did something similar when I wanted to install Iplayer but had to do it from my computer, I seem to remember that UK apps wouldn't install directly from the Firestick app store.
My Firestick knows it is in Spain because I get the Spanish Prime.
The new live TV is odd as well because of DAZN, I need the option of the router with and without a SmartDNS, It blocks it if I use one so Live TV including TVPlayer converts to Spanish channels when I am not using one and the EPG gives me a load of completely different channels.
Now that Channel 5 shows TV live, it is possible to see all the BBC, ITV, C4 and 5 channels live with a decent quality picture
Only Channel 5 is in Firestick's own EPG but with any luck in the near future the others will be included to give some sort of Freeview system

Hi Daisymay1,
TP-Link Archer C7 Manual
https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202103/ ... V5.2.0.pdf
The following assumes your ISP or Network engineer hasn't already setup a Password
Chapter 3 Login to your Router
Using a Browser type http://tplinkwifi.net
Create a login password
Click "Let's Get Started "
Chapter 15 page 78
Advanced > Network > DHCP server
Put your SmartyDNS settings in...........
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS
Save
You may need to restart any devices connected on your Network for the changes to take affect.

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick
Ok I am going slightly crazy now
Try as I may I cannot get my new Firestick to Load any apps ! So I was told check you have 1 click enabled and I have but my Firestick does not show on my Spanish account . A friend has loaded it via his vpn with all the apps & his vpn until I can sort this out but don’t want to take advantage for too long ! I have SmartyDNS which also has a vpn but cannot load anything
Please help it’s definitely an amazon issue ! But I am stumped .
